A shower remodel is the most-requested bathroom upgrade in Redwood City — and for good reason. Replacing a dated, leaky, or cramped shower with a modern walk-in transforms how the whole bathroom feels, and it is usually faster and less disruptive than a full remodel. We build custom tile showers, frameless glass enclosures, curbless (zero-threshold) walk-ins, and tub-to-shower conversions across Redwood City and the Peninsula.

Tub-to-shower conversions (our most popular project)

Thousands of Redwood City homes built in the 1950s through the 1970s have a small, rarely-used alcove bathtub in the main bathroom. Converting that tub into a sleek walk-in shower opens the room up, makes it easier to clean, and is far more usable day to day. Most conversions are finished in one to two weeks. If it is your only bathroom and you may resell to families, we will give you an honest take on whether to keep one tub in the home.

Shower types we build

  • Frameless glass walk-in — the clean, high-end look Bay Area buyers expect.
  • Custom tile shower — full-height tile, niches, benches, and feature walls.
  • Curbless / zero-threshold — no step to enter; modern and accessible.
  • Steam shower — a spa upgrade for primary suites.

Waterproofing done right

Every shower we install includes a full waterproofing membrane (Schluter Kerdi or RedGard) behind the tile. This is non-negotiable in our builds — it is exactly what fails in cheap installs and leads to leaks, rot, and mold inside the wall. Done correctly, it is invisible and it is what makes a tile shower last for decades.

Permits and code

A like-for-like shower replacement usually does not require a permit, but any plumbing relocation or layout change does. We handle Redwood City and San Mateo County permits and inspections whenever they apply, and every job is completed by a CSLB-licensed, insured crew.
